Jan-Halvor Halvorsen

Halvor Halvorsen Jan- ( born March 8, 1963 in Bamble, Norway ) is a former Norwegian football player and coach.

Playing career

Halvorsen played in youth at Pors Grenland. There, he played as a 15 -year-old in the first team. He moved to Eik -Tønsberg and two years later after FK Jerv With 18 years. In 1987, he signed a contract then for the first time at a bigger club Brann Bergen. With Brann he twice reached the Norwegian Cup final, which was, however, lost both times. In 1989, Halvorsen for half a year to start Kristiansand, but he could not prevail there. In the summer of the same year he finally answered the call of the German second division side Hertha BSC, with whom he 1990 the rise in the 1st Bundesliga managed. After the immediate re descent he remained until 1992 in Berlin. At the same time, he completed nine caps for Norway.

After the stint in Germany, he moved to Denmark to Aarhus GF and played two years as a regular player. In 1994 he returned to Sogndal Fotball in his native country, but was there as well in his last two stations ( Rosenborg Trondheim and Byåsen IL) not prevail, and he finished his playing career at the age of 31 years.

Coaching career

After the end of his playing career he was immediately coach at his last club Byåsen IL. After the engagement at Start Kristiansand and Sogndal Fotball 2005 followed the previous peak of his coaching career, he coached the Swedish first division club GIF Sundsvall. After only one year, he left Sweden in the direction of Notodden FK, where he realized right away without losing promotion to the second division.

On 17 January 2011, announced that Halvorsen is an assistant coach at Red Bull New York.

Family

Halvorsen lives with his wife Hilde near Oslo. With her he has three sons: Jonas, Torben and Jesper. Daughter Katrina is from a previous relationship.
