Janet Perlman

Janet Laurie Perlman ( born September 19, 1954 in Montreal ) is a Canadian animator and author and illustrator of children's books. Recurring main characters of their works are penguins.

Life

Perlman studied at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts / School of Art and Design and was 1973 National Film Board of Canada. She married Animator Derek Lamb, who also worked at the NFB in 1975. Both had worked in 1977 for the first time in the film The Hottest Show on Earth and left the NFB in 1982. Perlman to work on the NFB was published in 1981 animated short film The Tender Tale of Cinderella Penguin, a variation of the fairy tale Cinderella with penguins as acting figures. The film has received numerous international awards and was nominated in 1982 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ".

Perlman founded their own studio in 1983 Lamb Lamb - Perlman Productions. Their first co - produced works in 1985 the animated series Sports cartoons that ran on Canadian television. Perlman was involved as an animator on numerous films Derek Lamb, the Oscar-winning animated short film Bob 's Birthday and created animated sequences for Sesame Street.
