Jared Newson
Jared "Air" Newson ( born September 26, 1984 in Belleville, Illinois ) is an American professional basketball player.
Career
By the end of the season 2006/ 07 he stood at the Bayer Giants Leverkusen under contract. There he played at the position of small forward, and stood in the starting five of the Giants. Before he came to Leverkusen, he played on the University of Tennessee at Martin ( USA), where he led his team in points at ( 18.8 points per game ). Because of these benefits was Newson -Am Pro League committed in 2006 by the Memphis Grizzlies NBA team for the Summer. In the season 2006/ 07 he became one of the top performers of Bayer Giants and even was All-Star, he also won the German Championships at dunking BBL All Star Day 2007.
In the summer of 2007, he again played in the NBA Summer League for the team the Dallas Mavericks, reaching an average of 2.8 points per game in five games. On 1 October 2007 he was commissioned by Dallas a free agent contract and belonged to the 18-player squad full of the Mavericks, with whom he graduated from the Preseasonspiele. On October 24, however, he was discharged by the team from Dallas.
After a few weeks he spent in Poland, Jared Newson finished the season 2007/2008 at the Cairns Taipans in the Australian NBL ( National Basketball League). In July 2008 he signed a two -year contract with the Brose Baskets Bamberg and thereby returning to the basketball league. However, it did in Bamberg never take off and spent most of the season on the bench. In summer 2009 they finally agreed to terminate the contract. Newson moved back to the United States and signed a contract with the Bakersfield Jam in the NBA Development League for the 2009/2010 season. In January 2010, he joined as part of a trade with the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
After his engagements in the NBA D -League, he moved back to Europe and has since played for Joensuun Kataja in Finland (2010 to 2012) and Hyères -Toulon Var Basket and Saint- Vallier Basket Drome in France. After his contract in France he returned in early 2014 back to Joensuu.
