Jason Miller (ice hockey)

Jason Miller ( * March 1, 1971 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. By January 2010, he played for Dresdner Eislöwen in 2nd hockey league on the position of the left winger. During his career, he completed six NHL games for the New Jersey Devils.

Career

Jason Miller began his career with the Medicine Hat Tigers on the side of Trevor Linden, Wayne Hynes and Chris Osgood. During the NHL Entry Draft in 1989, he was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the first round in 18th position ( drafted ). In his last season in the Western Hockey League he reached 136 points scorer in 66 games and was used because this power of the Devils in an NHL game.

In the following two years, Jason Miller played in the American Hockey League with the Utica Devils, the former farm team of the New Jersey Devils. Because of its good services in Utica with 55 respectively 71 points he got more appearances in the NHL, but could not prevail there. After the new farm team of the Devils, the Albany River played Council, but despite outstanding performances in the 1993/94 season - with 22 goals and 53 assists - got another chance in the NHL squad, he moved to the farm team of the Detroit Red Wings. In the Adirondack Red Wings, he was with 32 goals and 33 assists behind Andrew McKim 's second best scorer of the team. As he again got no inserts in the NHL, he decided to change the age of 24 to Europe. His first stop there was the HPK Hämeenlinna in the SM- liiga, where he scored four goals and six assists in 22 games.

After a brief stint at the ESV Kaufbeuren in the German Ice Hockey League, he returned to North America and tried to recommend at the Peoria Rivermen for an NHL team. In the season 1996/97 he played for the San Antonio Dragons in the International Hockey League and brought good performance, but still did not get a contract offer from the NHL. Therefore, he decided to return to Europe and joined the EC in Düsseldorf. A year later he moved within the DEL for the Nuremberg Ice Tigers, for which he completed four seasons and 83 goals and 111 templates reached in 210 DEL games.

About the Hamburg Freezers and the Schwenningen Wild Wings 2004 he came to the polar bear Regensburg in the 2nd Hockey League, where he returned to its former strength. He was several times top scorer of his team and belonged alongside Martin Ančička to the leaders of the team.

In April 2008, he retired to a tear of the Achilles tendon and was then organized without a club. From November 2008 he trained with at the Dresden Eislöwen and has been licensed short time for the 2nd Bundesliga later.

In January 2010, Miller was exempted from the Eislöwen.
