Jean King

Jean Sadako King ( born December 6, 1925 in Honolulu, Hawaii Territory, † November 24, 2013 ibid ) was an American politician. Between 1978 and 1982 she was Deputy Governor of the State of Hawaii.

Career

Jean King was the daughter of a Caucasian father and a Japanese mother. She graduated from the University of Hawaii and then the New York University. Politically, she became a member of the Democratic Party. Between 1972 and 1974 she was a Member of the House of Representatives from Hawaii; 1974-1978 she was a member of the State Senate.
