Jenny Meadows

Jenny Meadows ( Meadows Jennifer Brenda, born April 17, 1981 in Wigan, Greater Manchester ) is a British middle distance runner who specializes in the 800 -meter distance. Because of their sprint skills it is also used in the 4 x 400 - meter relay.

At the Track World Junior Championships in Santiago in 2000, she won the British 4 x 400 -meter relay gold. In 2002, she was employed at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in the lead in the English relay and thus contributed to its winning the silver medal.

In the indoor season, 2007, they remained the first time under two minutes and came at the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham to fifth place. At the World Athletics Championships in Osaka, she reached the semi-finals. In 2008 she finished fifth at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia and was eliminated at the Olympic Games in Beijing from the semi-finals. Followed in 2009 with a fourth place finish at the European Indoor Championships in Turin, winning the bronze medal at the World Championships in Berlin.

The following year she won a silver medal at the World Indoor Championships in Doha and bronze at the European Championships in Barcelona.

At the European Indoor Championships in Paris in 2011 she won the British 4 x 400 -meter relay silver. About 800 m she moved through the subsequent disqualification of Jewgenija Sinurowa who was found guilty of doping, from silver to gold rank before. At the World Championships in Daegu she failed in the semifinals.

In 2012 she had to stop because of an injury to the Achilles tendon. At the 2013 European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg she answered back with a fourth place, a stress fracture in the femur but they still forced again to take a break.

Jenny Meadows is 1.56 m tall and weighs 47 kg. They will start for the Wigan & District Harriers & AC and is coached by Trevor Painter.
