Jersey Shore (TV series)
Jersey Shore (german short for: The New Jersey Coast ) is a scripted reality show, which will air on MTV and VIVA and eight young Americans ( mostly with Italian roots ) accompanied during their summer vacation: in the first, third, Fifth, and finally the last Sixth Season in Seaside Heights in Ocean County, New jersey, in the second season in Miami Beach and the fourth in Florence, Italy. The first season was filmed in August 2009, primarily in the holiday home of the performers, but also in Toms River, Neptune and Atlantic City. The series led to many controversies in the United States because of the stereotypical portrayal of Italian-American adolescents.
Production
One of the reasons for the success was the broadcasting of a fist strike as a preview of the second episode towards the end of the first episode of the first season, Nicole " Snooki " Polizzi stretched to the ground. Although the cut was not sent in the second episode, the scene soon circulated on the Internet and the audience doubled from the first to the second episode. Since the first season of the series was a great success for MTV, the station was in January 2010 announced its intention to turn a second season with a total of 12 episodes, to be broadcast in the summer of the same year. The first half of this season was filmed in May 2010 in South Beach, close to Miami Beach. The rest of the squadron was rotated back to the Jersey Shore. Later it was determined that Miami should be enough footage for an independent squadron, which was to begin on July 29, 2010. The footage from Jersey Shore should serve for a third season.
The fourth season was filmed in May 2011 in Florence. The premiere reached 8.78 million viewers another record high for MTV. Immediately after the fourth season filming were begun for the fifth season, back at the Jersey Shore.
From 5 January to 5 March 2012, the episodes of the fifth season were broadcast in the USA. On October 4, 2012 broadcast of the sixth and final season of the series began. The final was sent on December 20, 2012.
Overall, the series has spawned two spin-offs: one with Snooki and JWoww Snooki & JWoww with the title, the second season started on January 8, 2013 in the U.S., and one about the career of Pauly D under the name The Pauly D Project. The latter was discontinued after one season with 12 episodes. Also there is now a successor to the Jersey Shore names " Geordie Shore ", which is rotated not in America but in Newcastle, England.

DVD releases
On 23 February 2010, published in collaboration with MTV amazon.com the first season on DVD, although some songs were included the theme song " Get Crazy " replaced. For retailers, the DVD was released on July 20, released by Paramount Home Entertainment, with additional comments to the show. Both DVDs contain, among other things, from the TV series deleted scenes, the " Reunion Special ", "Tips from the situation and Snooki ," "Before the Shore ," and the " Jersey Shore Makeover with Michael Cera ". Although the DVDs really should appear uncensored, some places are still censored. 28 December 2010, finally, the second season was released uncensored.
Soundtrack and books
On 20 July 2010 the official soundtrack to the series was published by MTV. Various musicians such as Enrique Inglesias, Pitbull, Taio Cruz, Ludacris, Lil Jon, 3OH! 3, David Guetta, Fergie, Chris Willis, Girlicious and LMFAO as well as DJs like Deadmau5, Steve Aoki, Tiësto, Diplo, Paul Oakenfold and DJ Pauly D, which itself is part of the series, should make the perfect soundtrack to the summer.
A book with quotes from the series, "Gym, Tanning, Laundry: The Official Jersey Shore Quote Book " was published on June 15, 2010 by MTV. A sticker book, " Jersey Shore Sticker Activity Book", was released on the same day, just like a wall calendar for the year 2011. November 2, 2010, the book "Here's the Situation " was released, written by Mike Sorrentino in collaboration with Chris Millis, in which " the Situation " humorous his ( alleged ) lives in the struggle between "Chicks " and " Grenades " portrays.
Adaptations
In the UK since May 24, 2011 running the show Geordie Shore, which transfers the concept of the program on a group of people from the British city of Newcastle upon Tyne. In Germany three adaptations have been produced since 2012: once the shipment Party, brother! ( 13 episodes), which was shown during VIVA, since July 5, 2012, the shipment We Love Lloret the TV station ProSieben (6 episodes ) as well as the prequel We Love Sölden (4 episodes). In August 2013 MTV Polska, a Polish adaptation of the program under the name Warsaw Shore - announced Ekipa z Warszawy.
Reception
While the viewing figures rose steadily, were critics and Italian-American interest groups in the mission rather hostile. The chairman of Unico - interest group Andre DiMino complained that Italian-Americans were now demonstrated by the illustration in The Sopranos as a gangster as clowns.
Nancy Franklin, television critic of The New Yorker, is the success of the program explains:
" ' Jersey Shore ' gives us the feeling of being anthropologists who secretly observe through a tree gap through a new native tribe. "
The South Park series the series devotes an entire episode ( Aw Jersey thing (English title ) or New Jersey, 9th episode of the fourteenth season, 204 episode general).

In August 2011 it was announced that the fashion company Abercrombie & Fitch had commanded the cast of Jersey Shore money for it not to wear clothing brand more, as this was defamatory.
