Jesús Soto Karass

Jesús Soto Karass (* 15 October 1982 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa ) is a Mexican professional boxer.

Boxing career

Jesús Soto Karass began in 2001 with the professional boxing and won his first nine fights in a row by KO, including six in the first round. In January 2003, he punched in his tenth fight a draw over ten rounds against Cristian Solano ( Record: 16 wins - 1 loss ). After two more wins, he suffered three defeats in a row against Nurhan point Süleymanoğlu ( 12-0 ), Freddy Hernandez ( 16-0 ) and Yuri Foreman ( 16-0 ). In May 2005, he reached another draw against the two-time world title challenger Manuel Gómez.

In his next 14 fights, he again remained unbeaten, thereby pass him victories against Michel Rosales ( 16-0 ), Germaine Sanders ( 27-4 ), Chris Smith ( 21-4 ), David Estrada ( 22-4 ) and former world champion Vince Phillips. Against Gilbert Venegas ( 10-4) took over twelve rounds to a draw. In November 2009, he lost on points against Alfonso Gómez after it came in the sixth round due to a Cutverletzung over Karass ' right eye by a head butt to the evaluation of the score sheet. On December 14, 2013, boxed in Texas to the World Cup interime the WBA welterweight, but lost prematurely against the title holder Keith Thurman ( 21-0 ).

Trivia

Karass is coached by Javier Capetillo, who has already worked with Mexican world champions like Alejandro González and Antonio Margarito. Its Spanish name Renuente fight is paraphrased as much as " The Shrew ". He lives in Los Angeles and is the younger brother of professional boxer José Luis Soto Karass.
