Ježkovice

Ježkovice ( German Jeschkowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers north-west of Vyškov and belongs to Okres Vyškov.

Geography

Ježkovice located to the east of the country Drahany in the source basin of the creek Drnůvka. To the east rises the Rozepře (451 m ) south of the Podhora (453 m) in the southwest of Krátký Kopec ( 478 m). To the northeast the valley of Malá Haná lies with the dam Opatovice. To the west is the Nature 's Valley Park Rakovecké. To the southeast lies the medieval deserted village Budonice, west of the deserted village Sokolí and in the northwest the deserted village Vilémov.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out on 13 December 1375 two documents, in which Albrecht von Sternberg took the court decreed transmission of the castle Račice with the villages Račice, Drnovice, Pístovice, Sokolí, Ježkovice and Nosálovice to his cousin Peter von Sternberg.
