Jim Carter (actor)
Jim Carter ( born August 19, 1948 in Harrogate, Yorkshire, England ) is a British actor.
Life and career
Carter was a member of the comedy ensemble Madhouse Company of London in the 1970s. His first film role came in the SF Action Comedy Flash Gordon from the year 1980. He won in 1999, together with other actors for the role in Shakespeare in Love Screen Actors Guild Award. Since 2010, he embodied in the award-winning television series Downton Abbey butler Carson. For this role he received an Emmy nomination in 2012.
Carter is married to actress Imelda Staunton since 1985. Both have a common, born in 1993, daughter.
