Joey Calderazzo

Joey Calderazzo ( born February 27, 1965 in New Rochelle, New York) is an American jazz pianist.

Life

Calderazzo began to study classical piano at the age of eight and was later a student of Richie Beirach. In 1987 he became a member of the quartet of Michael Brecker. He worked as a sideman for Bob Belden, Bruce Gertz, Bob Mintzer, John Blake, Dave Stryker, Chuck Bergeron, Arturo Sandoval, George Garzone, Cæcilie Norby, Chris Minh Doky, Vincent Herring, Eugene Pao, Terumasa Hino and Jeff " Tain " Watts. In 1998 he became the successor to Kenny Kirkland in the Branford Marsalis Quartet. Furthermore, he recorded several albums as a band leader and co-leader.
