Johan Sundström

Johan Sundström ( born September 21, 1992, Gothenburg ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player standing since 2012 with the New York Islanders in the NHL under contract, but is primarily for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the AHL for use.

Career

Johan Sundström began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the Frölunda HC, for the first team, he made his debut in the Elitserien in the season 2009/10. In his only use point and he remained unpunished. He was then selected in the KHL Junior Draft 2010 in the third round than a total of 68 players from HK Budiwelnik Kiev, but initially stayed with his hometown club, for the 41 Elitserien missions he scored a goal in the season 2010/11. He also came as Players out on loan to a commitment to Borås HC HockeyAllsvenskan, the Swedish second division. In the NHL Entry Draft in 2011, he was finally selected in the second round than a total of 50 players from the New York Islanders.

In 2012 he moved permanently to the Islanders and has performed since then for their farm team, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Internationally

For Sundström Sweden took part in the U20 World Youth Championship 2011. During the tournament he prepared in six games before a goal.
