Johann Caspar Bagnato

Johann Caspar Bagnato, also Giovanni Gaspare Bagnato (* 1696 in Landau in der Pfalz, † July 15, 1757 on the island of Mainau Lake Constance ), was an architect of the baroque in southwest Germany. He was Planning Director Deutschordensballei Swabian Alsace - Burgundy. Bagnatos father came from Peccia in Ticino, his mother Anna Maria Stickel Meyer from Germany. Johann Caspar Bagnatos son Franz ( Ignaz ) Anton Bagnato ( 1731-1810 ) was also a builder.

1729 Bagnato was commissioned by the Teutonic Order, reshape the Altshausen castle in style. Of the plans, only a small part has been achieved.
