John Cherberg

John Andrew Cherberg ( born October 17, 1910 in Pensacola, Florida, † April 8, 1992 in Seattle, Washington) was a Democratic United States Senator.

Prior to his political career as Vice Governor of Washington Cherberg worked as a teacher and was 1953-1956 Football Coach at the University of Washington. Cherberg was a total of eight periods of office 1957-1989 Deputy Governor, before he retired after 32 years in retirement. He held that post longer than any other vice- governors in the United States in front of him.

He died in April 1992 in Seattle at the age of 81 years as a result of pneumonia. Cherberg was married and had three children, a son and two daughters.
