Life

The demands of the Holiness movement (as to him by friends who had attended the Keswick Convention 1884 ) have been reported, impressed him. With the aim to lead an aligned life completely to God, he decided to take off everything in worldly and personal quest. Several months after this decision he came to a point where he realized that he had changed his life forever. Later he wrote: "If you, my friends, in a situation of complete devotion to God comes, then, yes, he will show you when and how long you have to wait for him; and he will come to you and bless you in a way that you perhaps now is still unknown. "

His typical day during this time consisted of the morning watch 6-7 clock in the morning, the work and the revival meetings every night together. " He got to know the voice of God ," his daughter said later.

In 1886 he decided to leave the business world to devote themselves completely and only the spread of the Gospel. Before his death, he founded the Faith Mission, a Protestant Christian organization based in Rothesay, Scotland. According to his will, Members should lead " a life of faith."

He married on September 28, 1894 Annie Martin and had four children: sons Frank and Ellis and daughters Isobel ( who wrote a book about his life ) and Sheena.
