John Kahrs

Gerald John Kahrs (born 1967 ) is an American animator and director.

Life

Kahrs grew up in Cornwall, New York, and attended the Cornwall High School. He studied at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Carl Ludwig took him to the Blue Sky Studios, where Kahrs worked under Chris Wedge. Kahrs moved in 1997 to North California and began working as an animator at Pixar. He worked as an animator on a major part of the resulting by 2007 animated feature films Pixar. In 2007, Kahrs moved to Los Angeles and Chief Animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios. His first Disney movie was published in 2010 animated film Tangled -. In 2012 appeared with conquering In Flight Kahrs ' directorial debut. The short animation film created as a mix of traditional animation and computer animation, won a 2013 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.

The living in Torrance California Kahrs is an avid glider pilot.
