John Leveque

John Leveque is an American sound engineer who was nominated four times for the Oscar for best sound editing and is so far the most nominees in this category, who got an Oscar. On the other hand, he won twice the British Academy Film Awards ( BAFTA Film Award ) for the best sound.

Life

Leveque began his career as a sound engineer in the film industry in Hollywood in 1972 the film Doomsday Voyage, and worked until today in the production of 75 films.

In 1993 he was nominated for the first time for the Oscar for best sound editing and indeed with Bruce Stambler for Under Siege (1992). For The Fugitive ( 1993) he was again nominated for an Oscar in 1994 Stambler in this category and won the other in 1994, together with Stambler, Becky Sullivan, Scott D. Smith, Donald O. Mitchell, Michael and Frank A. Montaño Herbick for this film for the first time the BAFTA film Award for best Sound.

1995 and 1996 followed by two more nominations along with Stambler for the Oscar for best sound editing and one hand for The Cartel (1994 ) and one for Batman Forever ( 1995). In 1998 he won jointly with Terry Rodman, Roland N. Thai, Kirk Francis, Andy Nelson and Anna Behlmer his second BAFTA Film Award for Best Sound for LA Confidential ( 1997).

Last Leveque was twice nominated for the Golden Reel Awards from the Motion Picture Sound Editors: For a 2000 satirical war film Three Kings - It's good to be king (1999), on the other hand for the television film Freedom Song ( 2000).
