Jonathan Frakes

Jonathan Frakes ( born August 19, 1952 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania) is an American actor, director and television host. He is married to Genie Francis, with whom he has two children. He currently lives in Maine, near Belfast, where he works as a teacher of film and presentations at Rockport College. He is best known for his role as Commander William T. Riker in the U.S. television series Star Trek: The Next Generation and its moderation of Mystery television series X-Factor: The inconceivable.

Biography

Frakes decided after high school to study psychology at the Pennsylvania State University, but later moved the main compartment and studied theater. The occasion was well that he worked as an usher in a theater. Later he moved to Harvard University, where he studied drama at the center Leob and worked. After graduating, he moved to New York, where he tried to make his way as an actor. He played with in some Broadway plays and toured for Marvel Comics Captain America as the country.

On the TV screen Jonathan Frakes first appeared in the television series The Doctors, in which he played the role of Tom Carroll. Then he moved to Los Angeles, where more series, and theater performances followed. He achieved a level of fame for the first time by his portrayal of Stanley Hazard in the TV miniseries North and South. During the filming, he met his future wife Genie Francis know.

After the second season of North and South in 1987, he received the role of the first officer William Riker in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation, which he embodied in 178 episodes and four feature films. In the episode " Data's descendant " Jonathan Frakes directed her first. After several episodes of this series, he took over the director's chair in various episodes of Star Trek Deep Space Nine and Voyager. When the Enterprise crew moved to Captain Picard to the big screen, he worked at the Star Trek films Star Trek: First Contact (1996) and Star Trek: Insurrection (1998), both as an actor and as a director. Frakes is the only actor who (except the original series ) completed guest appearances in his role in every series.

Because of its efficient directing in Star Trek: First Contact, he was nicknamed "Two- Takes" Frakes. In addition to various episodes of other series ( Roswell ) he turns the movie Clockstoppers 2002 and 2004, the live-action adaptation of the classic Supermarionation Thunderbirds, both of which were but little success. From 1994 to 1997 he dubbed in the Disney animated series Gargoyles - On the wings of justice the villain David Xanatos.

Between 1998 and 2002 Jonathan Frakes was seen as a moderator of the mystery series The X Factor, in which he presented mysterious stories that were based either on supposedly true events or were fictitious by the editors.
