Joseph-Marie Sardou

Joseph -Marie Sardou SCJ ( born October 25, 1925 in Marseille, † 19 September 2009 in Rome) was archbishop of Monaco.

Life

Joseph -Marie Sardou joined the Congregation of the Congregation of the Pères de Timon - David and received on March 12, 1949, ordained priest by Bishop Jean Delay.

Pope John Paul II appointed him in 1985 for the 11th Bishop and second Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Monaco in Monaco. He received his episcopal consecration on September 30, 1985 Cardinal Bernardin Gantin; Co-consecrators were the archbishop of Strasbourg, Charles Amarin Brand, and Louis Dufaux, Auxiliary Bishop of Marseilles.

2000 his age-related resignation was accepted by Pope John Paul II. He took his retirement home in the Roman parish of San Cirillo. Joseph -Marie Sardou died on 19 September 2009 in Rome.

He was a member of the Orders of Chivalry.
