Juan Pablo Sorín

Juan Pablo Sorin ( born May 5, 1976 in Buenos Aires ) is a former Argentine football player at the position of a left full-back or a left midfielder.

Career

Association

Juan Pablo Sorin started his career in 1994 with Argentinos Juniors. In 1995 he was engaged by Juventus and played a season Then he returned to his home country and played from 1996 to 1999 for River Plate in the Italian Serie A.. With River in 1996, he won the Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana 1997, the Super, as well as four national championship titles ( Apertura 1996, 1997, 1999, Clausura 1997).

Juan Pablo Sorin was long time captain of the Argentine national team. His first game with the national team completed the tech-savvy and strong -running left-footer on 14 February 1995 against Bulgaria ( 4-1 ). He has played 75 caps for his country and participated among others in the Copa América in 1999, the Football World Cup 2002, Copa America 2004, at the Confederations Cup 2005 and the FIFA World Cup 2006.

In a friendly against Germany in preparation for the 2002 World Cup Juan Pablo Sorin scored on 17 April 2002 in Stuttgart the decisive goal to make it 1-0 for Argentina.
