Julian Schuster

Julian Schuster ( born April 15, 1985 in Bietigheim- Bissingen ) is a German football player. He is the brother of Robin Schuster and the cousin of Benedict Röcker.

Career

Schuster began his career with the FV Lochgau. During the winter break in 2005, the midfielder moved to VfB Stuttgart, where he played first in the second team. His Bundesliga debut for the first team he was on 27 October 2007 in a 1-0 home win between VfB Stuttgart and Bayer 04 Leverkusen after Roberto Hilbert was forced to retire injured. His second game for the professionals he made against SC Paderborn 07 in the DFB Cup. On 17 December 2007 continued Schuster his signature under a license dated to 2010 player contract at VfB and moved as his teammate Marco Pischorn in the professional squad of Bundesliga.

Just six months later, he moved for an estimated 150,000 euros for second division side SC Freiburg. During the season 2008/ 09 he was able to work out a regular place and was thus involved in the rise of the team in the Bundesliga. His first Bundesliga goal scored Schuster 27 September 2009 in a 3-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach. On 9 April 2011, he scored in the 3-2 win against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim a corner, directly to the 1-0 lead; this hit was voted Goal of the Month later.

After the departure of Heiko Butscher Julian Schuster was elected during the winter break of the 2011/12 season by the team as the new captain of Freiburg.

On March 31, 2012 ( 28th matchday of the 2011/12 season ) in the away match against Bayer 04 Leverkusen Schuster denied his 100th league appearance for the Baden and scored the intermediate 1-0 ahead.

On February 18, 2014 it was announced that Schuster has extended his contract until 2016.
