Julie Bishop

Julie Bishop ( born July 17, 1956 in Lobethal, South Australia ) is an Australian politician.

Life

After her schooling Bishop studied at the University of Adelaide and Harvard Business School Law. After her studies she worked as a lawyer. Bishop is a member of the Liberal Party of Australia, whose vice chairman has belonged since 2007. Since 1998 she has represented the constituency of Curtin in the Australian Parliament as MPs. Bishop was from 2006 to 2007 Minister of Education and Science. Her successor as Minister of Education was after the change of government, Julia Gillard.

After a successful election in Australia on September 7, 2013 Bishop was appointed on 18 September 2013, Foreign Minister of Australia.

Bishop lives in Perth and is a member of the Anglican Church of Australia. For five years she was married to Neil Gillion.
