Julio Bolbochán

Julio Bolbochán ( born March 10, 1920 in Buenos Aires, † June 28, 1996 in Caracas, Venezuela) was an Argentine grandmaster in chess.

Was Bolbochán Argentine champion in 1946 and 1948. Between 1950 and 1970 he took part in seven Chess Olympiads, in which he in Dubrovnik a gold medal for his score of 11.5 out of 14 won at the Chess Olympiad in 1950 on the second board, and in 1954 in Amsterdam a silver medal for his score of 11.5 out of 15, again on the second board. In 1955 he received the title of International Master in 1977 the title of Honorary Grand Master.

Last taught Bolbochán in Caracas at Simon Bolivar University as a chess teacher.

His older brother Jacobo Bolbochán (1906-1984) was 1931 and 1932 Argentine champion. He participated in three Chess Olympiads in 1935 in Warsaw, in 1937 in Stockholm and 1939 in Buenos Aires in part. His success at the Chess Olympiads in 1935 and 1939, each with third- best individual result at the second or third board.
