Jump Square

Jump Square (Japaneseジャンプ スクエア, Jampu Sukuea ), also Jump SQ. (ジャンプSQ. ) Is a Japanese shōnen manga magazine of the publisher Shueisha. It is published monthly. Each edition includes about 800 pages and costs 500 yen.

Details

Jump Square has been published since 2 November 2007. It is the successor of the magazine Shōnen Jump Gekkan (Monthly Shōnen Jump), which was discontinued in June 2007 due to poor sales figures. Four series from the old magazine to be continued in Jump Square, including the successful Claymore, which was released in the summer of 2008 in Germany. For the most part includes the magazine but new series as well as short stories, which usually come from the pen very well known artist such as Yasuhiro Nightow or Akira Toriyama.

Jump SQ.II ​​and Jump SQ.19

On 18 April 2008, the offshoot of Jump Square Second (ジャンプ スクエア セカンド, Jampu Sukuea Sekando ) or Jump SQ.II ​​appeared as an opportunity for new writers to publish their works and to get familiar Publishing series. Special attention was given by the magazine in the published story Karakuridōji Ultimo, a collaboration between Hiroyuki Takei and Stan Lee. The magazine was published at irregular intervals in four editions: issue 6/2008 (18 April 2008), 1/2009 (21 November 2008), 8 /2009 ( 18 June 2009) and 1/2010 (18 December 2009).

Was replaced by the magazine Jump SQ.19 (ジャンプSQ.19 (エス キュー イチ キュー) Jampu Esu Kyū Ichikyū ), whose first issue appeared on May 19, 2010. This appeared in April 2012 on a quarterly basis and since then every two months on the 19th of every even month.
