Jure Å inkovec

Jure Šinkovec (born 3 July 1985 in Ljubljana) is a Slovenian ski jumper.

Career

Jure Šinkovec occurred in February 2004 for the first time at the Ski Jumping Continental Cup (COC ). Already on his third jump, on 22 February 2004 in Iron Mountain, he was able to win with a twelfth place COC points. In the following winter of 2004 /05 he took part in several COC- jumping, but never made it to reach the second round. Nevertheless, he was allowed to participate in Planica on the national group at the end of the season of the World Cup ski flying event taking place. He could not qualify for the competition, but noted in the third training run, on 17 March 2005, his personal best jump of 193.5 meters.

After 2005 he showed mediocre performance at the start of the discharged within the Continental Cups Summer Jumping, he was able to increase and reach the beginning of August in Lillehammer with a second and a third place his first podium finishes. Due to the good performances he was allowed to compete in the Summer Grand Prix, where he for the first and so far only time a place among the top 10 in a class competition reached with a tenth place in Hakuba Japan (October 2008).

After being disappointed at the beginning of the Ski Jumping World Cup 2005/ 06 with a 33 and a 50th place in Kuusamo, he was demoted to the Continental team. With a second place early January 2006, when jumping from the normal hill in Planica, he managed, however, to be recommended again for the Slovenian World Cup team. When jumping from the Okurayama -Hill in Sapporo he could win with a 21st place his first World Cup points. During the rest of the season he stepped curve continues at the World Cup, but could not place in the points themselves.

In the Summer Grand Prix 2006 he had a twelfth place in Kranj, on otherwise he placed only in the back of the midfield. During the following winter season 2006/ 07 Šinkovec commuted between World and Continental back and forth, however, was able to show in any of the two competition series convincing performance. After improving his results in the COC in the summer of 2007, he took up with some jumping Summer Grand Prix 2007, but could only reach positions between the 35th and 50th place.

It first started with weak performance in the Continental Cup of winter 2007/ 08, his form improved, however, and he could decide on 12 January 2008, the competition in Sapporo for themselves. After he also showed good performance in the following Continental Cup in Zakopane and Hinterzarten, he was re-appointed in the Slovenian World Cup team. Since he always missed the second round at the World Cup, he was demoted back to the COC team for the summer of 2008, where it reached only placements in midfield down to a second place in Velenje. On 14 December 2008, he reached while jumping in the Italian Pragelato with rank 16, he was then employed for almost three years no longer in World Cup competition had hitherto been his best World Cup Platzierung.Trotzdem.

Since the beginning of the 2011/12 season Šinkovec jumps back regularly in the World Cup. In the team competition on 10 December 2011 at the Čerťák large hill in Harrachov with the Slovenian team, he managed to jump to third place and thus his first podium in the World Cup. His best World Cup result to date in a single competition he ersprang with 11th place on 28 January 2012 at Sapporo, Japan. On 19 February 2012, he won with the Slovenian team the team competition at the Heini Klopfer ski jump and overtook not only the first victory of his career. The Slovenian team won a team competition in the World Cup for the first time ever.

In the Ski Flying World Championships 2012 in Vikersund he won with the Slovenian team the bronze medal in the team competition.
