Jürgen Lässig

Jürgen Transparent ( born February 25, 1943 in Tuttlingen ) is a former German race car driver.

The greater motorsports community Casual largely unknown was one of Germany's best sports car drivers in the 1980s and 1990s. 16 times he was in the 24- hour race at Le Mans at the start and was only twice less than Hans -Joachim Stuck in this endurance race here, which is with 18 starts of the German with the most participations in the Sarthe.

His biggest success in motorsport celebrated Casual 1995 when he, together with Giovanni Lavaggi, Marco Werner, Christophe Bouchut and Oscar Larrauri won the 24 - hour race at Daytona with a Kremer K8 Spyder.

His debut in Le Mans he gave in 1981 as a partner of Edgar Dören and Gerhard Holup on a Porsche 935K3. The trio was forced to retire after 47 laps after an engine failure. In the same year the trio won the 1000 km race at Monza. Two years later he came for the first time in the top ten in the overall standings, as he Obermaier Racing and with Axel Plankenhorn and Desiré Wilson was seventh as partners in the Porsche 956.

1986, again in the Porsche 956 from Obermaier Racing, he finished fifth and a year later he achieved his best result at Le Mans, when he was second in the 962 Primagaz Porsche.

Translucent came at Le Mans seven times in the top ten and was regarded as a specialist for the Porsche 962, which he had piloted over many years. With this model, it was also in many sports car races away from Le Mans and Daytona at the start.

After the race at Le Mans in 1997, he had to end prematurely after an engine failure at the Kremer K8, he announced his retirement from motor sport.
