Jurijs Žigajevs

Jurijs Žigajevs ( born November 14, 1985 in Leningrad) is a Latvian football player.

Career

Association

Jurijs Žigajevs was in what was then Leningrad (now known as Saint Petersburg ) was born, began his career in the Latvian city Ilūkste, at FK Ilūkste. From FK he joined while still a youth to another second division of Ilūkste, the FK Zibens / Zemessardze. From the season 2002 he was at FK Riga under contract, where he also gave his professional debut in the top Latvian league Virsliga. At the club from the capital of Latvia, he should be a total of seven seasons under contract. In summer 2008, he moved to FK Ventspils, where she won equal to the Latvian championship. Consequently, he moved to the 2011/12 season back to Latvia and signed again at FK Ventspils.

National

Jurijs Žigajevs debuted for the Latvian national football team in 2007 against Iceland after he came in to replace Aleksejs Višņakovs. In 2008 Žigajevs first participated with Latvia at the Baltic Cup and could win this after two wins against Estonia and Lithuania, where it was used only in the second game. In the Baltic Cup 2010, the midfielder should come in the two internationals to use minutes, but could not successfully defend the title in 2008 with the selection. The first hit for the national team in 2009, he could mark it as he hit against Luxembourg. His completed to date last international match Žigajevs in September 2011 against Greece, before he was reinstated in February 2013 at 0-3 against Japan in Kobe.
