Kameno

Kameno ( Bulgarian Камено ) is a city and administrative center of a municipality of the same name in South-East Bulgaria in Burgas Oblast. Kameno is located in the Burgasebene on the banks of Ajtoska River, about ten kilometers west of Burgas. Kameno is the center of the municipality of the same name. In the lands of the city, the municipality is the village Swoboda.

In the vicinity of the town LUKOIL Neftochim Burgas Refinery is the largest on the Balkan Peninsula. Through the city leads the railway line Sofia - Burgas. After the Balkan wars (1912-1913) settled in Kamemo refugees from Thrace ( → Thracian Bulgarians ) down. In Kameno a Tschitalischte, which was founded in 1927 exists.
