Kanybek Osmonaliyev

Kanybek Osmonalijew (Russian Каныбек Осмоналиев; born November 19, 1953 in Frunze, Kyrgyz SSR, USSR) is a former Soviet weightlifter. 1980, it was Olympic champion in the flyweight.

Career

Kanybek Osmonalijew, Kyrgyz descent, began in Frunze as a teenager with weight lifting. He holds a degree in history, graduating with a degree in historian. The 1.58 m tall athlete was a member of Burewestnik Frunze and launched in the lightest weight class that existed in his time, the flyweight, which had its weight limit at 52 kg body weight. Unlike many of its competitors, he had usually no weight problems, so he was usually the lightest in its weight class, which helped him to several international and national titles.

His first major successes celebrated Kanybek Osmonalijew in 1977. He finished this year at the Soviet flyweight championship at 230 kg ( 102.5 to 127.5 ) 3rd place behind Valentin Polonsky, 235 kg & Adam Gnatow, 232, 5 kg. In 1978 he became the first Soviet flyweight champion, with 235 kg ( 100-135 ) before Adam Gnatow, 227.5 kg and was then employed at the European Championships 1978 in Havirov. He won there right away flyweight with a duel power 237.5 kg ( 105 to 132.5 ) before Köszegi György, Hungary, 237.5 kg ( 105 to 132.5 ) and Belah Olah, Hungary, 235 kg ( 105 - 130). 1979 occupied Kanybek Osmonalijew at the Soviet flyweight championship, with 235 kg ( 105-130 ) "only" the third place behind his predecessor Alexander Voronin, who at 240 kg ( 107.5 to 132.5 ) and Alexander Senschin, 235 kg ( 97.5 to 137.5 ). But he was used together with Alexander Voronin at the World Championships in 1979 in Thessaloniki and won there again because of its lower body weight, with 242.5 kg ( 105 to 137.5 ) before Alexander Voronin, and Ferenc Hornyak from Hungary, both as, in the duel reached 242.5 kg.

In the Olympic year 1980 Kanybek Osmonalijew won 245 kg ( 107.5 to 137.5 ) again at the Soviet Championship because of its lower body weight before Alexander Senschin which also reached 245 kg ( 102.5 to 142.5 ). Also at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, he benefited from his low body weight and was 245 kg ( 107.5 to 137.5 ) Olympic champion before the two North Koreans and Han Ho Bong Chol Gyong Si and Bela Olah, all in a duel the same performance as he scored.

Kanybek Osmonalijew continued his career after his Olympic victory for one year continued and finished at the Soviet Championship in 1981 at flyweight 245 kg ( 110-135 ) 2nd place behind Valentin Polonsky, who is also 245 kg ( 102.5 to 142.5 ) achieved.
