Karen Whitefield ( * 1970 in Bellshill ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labour Party.

1988 Whitefield joined the Labour Party and supported the House of Representatives John Reid in his work. In 1991, she was the personal assistant of the House of Representatives Rachel Squire. In the Scottish Parliament elections in 1999 Whitefield ran as candidate of the Labour Party for the constituency of Airdrie and Shotts. Well ahead of the candidate of the SNP, she won the mandate and moved into the newly created Scottish Parliament. In the following elections in 2003 and 2007 she defended her mandate. The 2011 parliamentary elections brought a change of Deputies of Airdrie and Shotts, because the SNP politician Alex Neil was the first time to win the constituency for his party. After the massive, nationwide voice losses of the Labour Party in these elections the party was staffed largely realigned. In this context, Whitefield was appointed Shadow Minister for Children and Youth.
