Kaspars Saulietis

Kaspars Saulietis ( born June 12, 1987 in Riga, Latvian SSR) is a Latvian ice hockey player who is under contract with HK Neman Grodno in the Belarusian Extraliga since 2011.

Career

Kaspars Saulietis began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at SK Riga 20 for the first team, he made his debut in the Latvian Hockey League in the 2004/05 season. However, the season ended the winger at the Des Moines Buccaneers in the North American Junior League United States Hockey League. For the 2005/ 06 season he returned to his Latvian homeland, in 2000 he took part with the HK Riga at the Belarusian Extraliga and won the Latvian championship in parallel. In the following season the right shooter ran in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League Kelowna Rockets and for the Regina Pats.

After Saulietis again in the Latvian Hockey League was in the 2007/ 08 season for the Riga HK 2000 on the ice, he signed the following year, initially at Metallurg Zhlobin in the Belarusian Extraliga before during the season 2008/ 09 from HK Dinamo he Minsk has been committed, for which he played until January 2010 in the Continental Hockey League. Then, his contract was terminated and Saulietis was obliged by HC BENZINA Litvinov of the Czech Extraliga. For Litvinov, he completed a total of ten games in which he remained point - and strafenlos.

In May, he received a sample contract with Hämeenlinnan Pallokerho, which was extended in August 2010 to the end of the season 2010/2011. For the 2011/12 season he was obliged by HK Neman Grodno from the Belarusian Extraliga.

Internationally

For Latvia Saulietis took at junior level at the U18 Junior B World Championships in 2004 and 2005 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 2005 and 2007 and the Under-20 Junior World Cup in 2006 in part. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the A World Championships in 2010 and 2011.
