Katerynopil

Katerynopil (Ukrainian Катеринопіль; Russian Катеринополь / Katerinopol, Polish earlier Kalnibłoty ) is an urban-type settlement in the Cherkasy Oblast in the middle of the Ukraine.

The location is the center of the same name and is located at Rajons Hnylyj Tikytsch.

He was first mentioned in writing in 1568, it settled here Cossacks. This took part in the Khmelnytsky Uprising. Until 1793, the place was the noble Republic of Poland, after which he came to the Russian Empire, while the place in 1795 or later Jekaterinopol Katerynopil / Katerinpol has been renamed.

After an administrative reform in 1923 Katerynopil became the center of a newly created Rajons, since 1965 the city has the status of an urban-type settlement.
