Zolotonosha

Zolotonosha (Ukrainian and Russian Золотоноша ) is a city in central Ukraine in Cherkasy Oblast, and a center of the eponymous Rajons, 30 kilometers from Cherkasy located away by the river Solotonoschka. For the municipality also includes the village of Shar ( Згар ) and the two settlements Hryschkiwka ( Гришківка ) and Jarky ( Ярки ).

History

The first written reference found the city to 1576th Since 1635 was in Zolotonosha Magdeburg Law.

After 1654 the city coincided with the left-bank Ukraine to Russia.

During the Russian Civil War Zolotonosha was Soviet in 1920 and belonged until 1991 to the Ukrainian Soviet Republic. Since 1991 she has been part of independent Ukraine.
