Kazuyoshi Miura

Kazuyoshi Miura (三浦 知 良Miura Kazuyoshi Japanese short form: Kazu Miura, born February 26, 1967 in Shizuoka ) is a Japanese football player.

He was the first Japanese man who was able to prevail as a player both in South America and in European leagues, and is regarded by many as one of the best Japanese footballer of all time.

Life

Miura was born on 26 February 1967 as the son of Naya Nobo and Yoshiko Miura and was already at the age of six years, the first time for a team his elementary school on the court. In 1982 he completes high school and goes to the high school Shizuoka, but he breaks off after only eight months. He then makes a decision that should make up his later fame: the age of fifteen, he travels alone to Brazil to become a professional footballer there.

Career

Miura's first club, Juventus, is a youth team from São Paulo, but in 1986, at age 18, he signed his first professional contract with the famous Santos FC, the club of his idol Pelé. By 1990, he successfully plays in several Brazilian clubs, including SE Palmeiras and Coritiba FC and is the idol of many Japanese- Brazilians and football fans in his home country.

In 1990, he returns as a celebrated star back to Japan and joins the then leading Yomiuri FC (now Tokyo Verdy 1969) in which he in consequence leads directly to three league titles (two in the Japan Soccer League and one as Verdy Kawasaki in the newly formed professional league J. League). In summer 1994, Miura is the Asian Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player of the J. League and Verdy stands before the fourth title in a row. At this time changes Kazu (he was at the time the only Japanese man who - in Brazilian tradition - his nickname on the jersey wore) to Genoa in the Italian Serie A, where he becomes the first Japanese man in the league. Although there may not actually sit down and already returned after a year to Verdy, in Japan this guest performance is evaluated as a success which was later surpassed by Hidetoshi Nakata.

After another European stint in 1999 Dinamo Zagreb Miura changes to Kyoto Purple Sanga and then Vissel Kobe. After a stay in the second division at the Yokohama FC He is currently the Australian Sydney FC under contract.

Success with the national team

On September 26, 1990 Kazuyoshi Miura played against Bangladesh in Beijing, his first of a total of 91 international matches. His first goal for Japan two years later he succeeded also in Beijing, in a 4-1 victory over North Korea. It is equipped with 56 hits scorer of his country and also denied the second most matches, but longed for him appearance at a World Cup was him denied: although Miura like no other player is the rise of Japan in the footballing world's elite and his team for the 1998 World Cup shot (about six goals in the qualifier against Macau), he has not even been set up in France. Ever Miura was time for the "Blue ", which ended on 6 June 2000 with a 4-0 victory over Jamaica and his 56th goal overshadowed by friction: the eccentric " Brazilian" Miura could never quite integrated into the national team and was often at odds with the coaches who demanded extreme subordination in Japanese tradition.
