Kędzierzyn-Koźle
Kędzierzyn -Koźle [ kɛɲʥɛʒɨn kɔʑlɛ ] ( German Kędzierzyn - Cosel ) is a town in Poland, in Opole Voivodeship.
Geography
The city covers the entire mouth area of the Klodnitz and the Gliwice canal to the Oder.
The historic center is the left or the city district Koźle ( Cosel ), while the Districts right of the river represent since the 19th century resulting from little villages industrial settlements that developed in the second half of the 20th century cities.
The district Sławięcice once formed a caste domination, which included the large forest areas between the Oder and Klodnitz.
History
Kędzierzyn -Koźle established in 1975 by the union of cities Koźle ( Cosel ), Kędzierzyn ( Kędzierzyn ) Kłodnica ( Klodnitz ) and Sławięcice ( Slawentzitz ).
Economy
The city is a center for the chemical industry. In Kędzierzyn- Azoty the largest plant is the production of nitrogen fertilizers in Poland; in Blachownia Śląska district, there is another large chemical plant and a power plant.
