Keith and Dufftown Railway

The Keith and Dufftown Railway is a heritage railway in Scotland. It is located in the Moray Council Area and crosses 18 km (11 miles) from Keith Town on Drummuir by Dufftown.

History

The track was originally part of a route from Aberdeen to Elgin about Keith, the Great North of Scotland Railway had as a parallel route to the Inverness and Aberdeen Junction Railway erected. The line was opened in 1862 in operation. Since 1948 the route of the British Railways was operated and decommissioned in 1991.

Museum Railway

Shortly after the shutdown began railway enthusiasts with the preparations for the reopening of the route as a museum railway.
