Kemerovo (pig)

The pig Kemerovo (Russian Keмepoвcкaя transcribed Kemerowskaja ) is a multi-purpose breed of pig from Russia.

Breeding history

The breed originated in the Kemerovo Oblast under the supervision of AI Ovsyannikov and II Gudilina, the Siberian - Landrace sows with Large White, Berkshire pigs and, to a lesser extent, Large Black crossed. Later influences of the North Siberian and the Siberian pig stained pig were added. In 1961, the Kemerovo pig was officially recognized as a multi- purpose breed.

The main breeding areas of the Kemerovo pig are Jurginski ( Rajon Jurga ) and the Chkalov - State Farm ( State Farm imeni Tschkalowa, Rajon Leninsk- Kuznetsk ) in the Kemerovo Oblast. Moreover, it is in the area Qostanai (Kazakhstan ) and grown in the Sakhalin Oblast. Furthermore, it is also held in the oblasts Omsk, Chita, in the Krasnoyarsk region and in Tuva.
