Ken Lovsin

Kenneth Lovsin ( born December 4, 1966 in Peace River, Alberta ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach who played during his career for the Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League and with Team Canada won the silver medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics.

Career

Ken began his career in 1985 Lovsin at Camrose Lutheran College in Camrose and continued his career a year later at the University of Saskatchewan, where he studied and played two years Hockey. Lovsin selected at the NHL Supplemental Draft in 1987 in the first round as the sixth player of the Hartford Whalers. But he never played in Hartford, but walked the next two years for the team Canada on the ice. On 3 July 1990 he signed a contract with the Washington Capitals. In the 1990/91 season he made his debut in the National Hockey League, however, this was his only use in the NHL. He then played the next two years for the Baltimore Skipjacks of the American Hockey League, where he quickly fought his way to a permanent place. In 162 games, he scored 20 goals, had 53 assists and collected 73 points.

For the 1992/93 season he signed a contract with Swedish club Mora IK. After one season in the second highest Swedish league, he returned to North America and played back for the team Canada. At the Olympic Winter Games 1994, he came in eight games for use with Team Canada and won the silver medal. After end of the tournament he made his career as a hockey player known end and was an assistant coach at the Barrhead Bantam AA Pirates, a youth team from Alberta.
