Kevin Pauwels

Kevin Pauwels ( born April 12, 1984 in Ekeren ) is a Belgian cyclo- crosser, mountain biking and road racing cyclist.

Kevin Pauwels was 2002 Zolder World Cross Country champion of the junior class. Two later he became world champion again, this time in the U23 class. Then he moved to the Belgian Fidea Cycling Team, where he went with his older brother Tim Pauwels. On September 26, 2004, his brother suffered at the international cross-country race in the Belgian Erpe -Mere in the second lap of the race a cardiac arrest. He died a short time later at the hospital in Aalst of a heart attack. In his last season as a U23 rider Kevin was six races to decide for himself, including his first World Cup race. Since September 2006, he rides for the elite class.
