Kill the Kilian ( German: Kill the Kilians ) is the debut album by German indie rock band Kilian and was released in 2007 on Vertigo Berlin ( Universal).

Formation

Back in 2005, the Kilian had received an EP. In 2006, the song included on " Jealous Lover" was able to place in the campus charts, a short time later Thees Uhlmann became aware of the group and took over the management. After the group was able to sell as the opening act of Tomte over 700 copies of their first EP, followed by a sponsored by Red Bull Germany tour. In early 2007 appeared the EP Fight the start at Vertigo Berlin.

The recordings for Kill the Kilians retreated throughout a year, on September 7, 2007, the album was then at Universal. Previously, the band had gained through appearances at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park additional notoriety.

Reception

The reviews for Kill the Kilians were predominantly positive.

Laut.de gave the album five out of five possible points. In her review Martina Kellner wrote: " [ The album ] is full of Hitqualität, almost screams after hysteria and hype! " Strokes bonds are not to be dismissed out of hand, but the arrangements are too complex, the band alone it to reduce.

In his review for the music magazine Visions Oliver Uschmann praised the " dense, smoky, soulful atmosphere " of the plate. This was also due to the different influences of bands such as Mando Diao, Oasis or The Velvet Underground, varied and versatile.

Kill the Kilian was also placed for a week in the German album charts.

The German rapper Cro 2011 used a sample from Fight the start for his new single Once around the world.
