King's College Chapel

The King's College Chapel is commonly seen as the symbol of the city and is perhaps the most famous and most beautiful building of Gothic architecture in Cambridge. It was built over a period of about 100 years in three stages and has the largest fan vault in the world ( in the typical Perpendicular style), many beautiful stained glass windows and the painting " The Adoration of the Magi from the East " by Peter Paul Rubens. The chapel is still actively used for worship and some other events of the college. On Christmas Eve the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols takes place there every year.
