Kirsten Flipkens

Kirsten Flipkens ( born January 10, 1986 in Geel ) is a Belgian tennis player.

Career

Flipkens 2003 won the individual competitions in the junior women at Wimbledon and at the U.S. Open. At the end she was ITF Junior World Champion.

In 2004, she was 08 German team champion in the women's league with the TC Moers.

At the French Open in 2006 she went to at a Grand Slam tournament for the first time. In the first round she defeated Virginie Pichet of France 6-2 and 6-3, they then lost to Flavia Pennetta clearly with 1:6 and 0:6. After they had fought through qualifying, beating Flipkens in the main draw of the U.S. Open 2006, the Chinese Chan Yung- jan 6-4, 6-2 before she succumbed to Jelena Janković with 2:6, 3:6.

The Wimbledon Championships 2009, they first defeated the seeded 30 Hungarian Ágnes Szávay 7:5, 6:4. In the second round she defeated Elena Baltacha 7-5, 6-1, but then lost then against the top seed Dinara Safina with 5:7 and 1:6.

Your first and only single title on the WTA Tour won Flipkens on 16 September 2012. Unseeded as they defeated in the final of Quebec Lucie Hradecká in two sets.

Since 2003, Kirsten Flipkens stands in the Belgian Fed Cup team. Your current balance: ten wins, 23 defeats against (as at end 2013).
