Kladky

Kladky ( German Rome, also Kladek ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 18 kilometers southeast of Moravian Třebová in Drahany country and belongs to Okres Prostějov

Geography

Kladky is located in the north of Drahany country in the headwaters of the river Věžnice. Neighboring towns are Ospělov in the northeast, Milkov, Dětkovice and Ludmírov in the east, Chobyně in the southwest, and Nectava Brezinky in the west and Osikov, Trpín and Vysoká in the northwest.

History

The village was mentioned in 1320 in a document of the Bishopric of Olomouc as Roma for the first time. Roma was one belonging to the church province Mohelnice diocese fief. It is assumed that the name of Rome occurs because the initial population is created on a plurality of hills.

During the 19th century the population of Kladky increased considerably. Lived in 1793 still 603 people in the village, so there were already 918 1834 The highest population reached the place in 1910 with 1273 people. Since then, this number has decreased within a hundred years to a quarter. The reasons were mainly the remoteness, lack of industry and jobs. The vast number of houses is now availed as holiday homes.

The municipality belongs to the local situation Osikov ( Ossakow ).
