History

The choir sat down early with historical performance practice of early music apart and found a quality of interpretations that made him famous far beyond the borders of Germany.

The choir's repertoire includes works from the Venetian polychorality to contemporary compositions. The ensemble can look back especially on a long performance tradition of vocal music of the 17th century and 18th century. First, great attention was paid to the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, documented including through participation in the complete recording of the cantatas ( Teldec ) (see Church Cantatas of JS Bach) and two recordings of the motets of Johann Sebastian Bach.

In 1979, under the direction of Heinz Hennig was a recording of the Vespers by Claudio Monteverdi, who set a high standard in the interpretation of this work for that time. This was followed by the works of Heinrich Schütz. Between 1982 and 1999 five contactor recordings of the choir developed under the direction of Heinz Hennig that apply to the pioneers of performance practice of the work of Heinrich Schütz. Four of these recordings were with awards, including the German Record Prize, awarded. All contactor recordings of the boys' choir received the French critics Diapason d'Or.

In addition, among other things, numerous photographs were taken with a French choir music (masses and requiems by Charpentier, Vierne, Duruflé, Widor; Motets of Orlando di Lasso and others) as well as recordings of modern and contemporary compositions ( Symphony of Psalms, fair in 1948, Cantata "Babel " by Igor Stravinsky, works of Alfred Koerppen and others).
