Knut Hansson

Knut " Buckla " Ruben Börje Hansson ( born May 9, 1911 † 10 February 1990) was a Swedish football player. The striker took part with the Swedish national team at the World Cup 1938.

Career

Hansson played for Landskrona BoIS in Allsvenskan. The striker was charged with 20 goals this season in the season 1932/33, second in the scoring charts behind Torsten Bunke Helsingborgs IF. Nevertheless, he rose with the club at the end of the season in the second division. Previously, he, however, had played in the country selection and qualified on his international debut against the Lithuanian National Team scored twice as the national team with a 2-0 win to take part in the World Cup finals in 1934.

After the descent Hansson was switched to league rivals IS Halmia with which he, however, at the end of the season 1933/34, also descent into second-rate. While in 1934 once again active for the Swedish national team, he was not part of the squad held in the same year the World Cup tournament. Later he returned to Landskrona BoIS because his old club had risen again directly. Here he distinguished himself in the episode continues as a regular scorer and returned in 1938 to the national team. In the final preseason game six days before the first finals game he celebrated during a 3-3 tie against Latvia 's comeback with two goals. In total he scored 154 goals for the club, making it second in the club 's internal time scoring list behind John Nilsson.
