History

Today's church was founded in 1991 following a referendum by the merger of places Kočín (Hungarian Köcsény ) and Lančár (Hungarian Lancsár ), with the local government in Kočín.

The place Kočín was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1436 as Kotlyn while Bach was already listed as 1262 Fluvium Kochyn. 1452 are mentioned 12 farms, which belonged to the small portion of the manor of Castle Guttenstein, for the most part local nobles. Kočín was one of the poorest estates of the castle, a situation that was made worse by the Turkish wars in the 16th and 17th centuries. The main sources of income were farming, until the 19th century, viticulture, fruit growing thereafter. 1828 Kočín had 320 inhabitants.

Lančár was first mentioned in 1262 as Kuerencher writing. The name is said to have been derived from the Slavic name for a potter. A parish is in a document from the year 1332 and the place was part of the territory of the castle Guttenstein. 1869 are listed in Lančár 216 inhabitants.
