Kolja Afriyie

Kolja Afriyie ( born April 6, 1982 in Flensburg ) is a German footballer who plays primarily as a right back. His father is Ghanaian and his mother German. He grew up in Flensburg, where he began in his youth at the club DGF Flensborg playing football. In 1999, the Hamburger SV spotted him for his second team. In 2000, he moved to Denmark for AC Horsens, where he stayed for four years.

In the summer of 2004 he moved to Esbjerg fB. He says his most memorable moment was at Schalke 04 a match in the UEFA Intertoto Cup against FC Schalke in front of a full house in the arena. Since 2006, he plays for FC Midtjylland, who play their games in Herning in Jutland. In the summer of 2010 he returned to Germany and joined the second division Energie Cottbus, where he signed a contract until 2013, but this was disbanded in July 2011. Afriyie then returned to FC Midtjylland.

For the German U- 21 team came Afriyie 2002 and 2003 to a total of four inserts under coach Jurgen Kohler.
