Kosovo national football team

The Kosovar football selection is not recognized by the football associations, UEFA and FIFA football selection from Kosovo. Negotiations of a Kosovar delegation ( Fadil Vokrri, Valon Behrami, Lorik Cana and Besnik Hasi ) with Joseph Blatter and Michel Platini about joining the UEFA and FIFA have already been held, however, led to no result.

History

Founding and first unofficial Test matches

The team was founded after the disintegration of Yugoslavia and contributed since 1993 some unofficial test matches from.

On 21 May 2012, the FIFA Executive Committee, the Kosovar football team decided to allow the discharge of friendly matches against other teams. This decision met with fierce opposition by the Serbian Football Association, but also the UEFA, as it had been taken without consultation with this. 17 July 2012 then decided the FIFA Executive Committee to adjourn the debate on the modalities of the implementation of the Decision of May to September 2012. Also at this time, no decision has been made, but then decided in December by the Executive Committee that Kosovar clubs and all selections must deny except the senior national men's friendlies against other FIFA members.

On January 13, 2014 allowed a the FIFA Emergency Committee Kosovo to deny friendlies against FIFA member associations. The hoisting of the national flag, the national anthem as well as jerseys with the National insignia, however, were forbidden. The first official international match took place on March 5, 2014 in Kosovska Mitrovica against Haiti instead. The game ended in front of around 17,000 spectators in Trepča Stadium 0-0. The game was described by the media as historic.
