Krásný Les (Karlovy Vary District)

Krasny Les ( German Schoenwald ) is a municipality in the north-western Bohemia in the Czech Republic and belongs to the region of Karlovy Vary ( Carlsbad Region ), Okres Karlovy Vary.

Geography

Krasny Les is 542 m above sea level on the southern edge of the Ore Mountains at the foot of Klínovec ( wedge mountain).

History

The German had resulted from the settlement site in 1890, 84 houses with 533 inhabitants, mostly Catholic. to place among the bears and the basic mill and the Wärzmühle in Hauenstein. After 1945, almost the entire German -speaking population was expelled from Schoenwald and several houses demolished.

On 1 December 1930, the place Schoenwald 588 inhabitants, on 17 May 1939 were 538 and on May 22, 1947 only 162 inhabitants.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Krasny Les Damice ( Damitz ), Horni Hrad ( Hauenstein ) and Krasny Les ( Schoenwald ). Basic settlement units are Damice, Krasny Les, Leno ( wood Bachlehen ) Plavno ( Wood Creek ) and Vrch ( Egertl ). To Krasny Les also the deserted village Vršek heard ( Hüttmesgrün ).

The municipality is divided into the Katastralbezirke Damice, Krasny Les, Leno, Plavno and Vrch.
