Křišťanov

Křišťanov ( German Christian Berg ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. You more than twelve kilometers south of Prachatice and belongs to Okres Prachatice.

Geography

Křišťanov is located on the northern edge of the training area Boletic in Šumava. The village lies at the foot of Farský vrch (950 m ) above the valley of the creek Luční. In the southeast, rises in the military field of Chlum ( 1191 m).

Neighboring towns are Koryto in the north, and Ovesné Miletínky in the northeast, Markov in the east, Arnoštov the southwest, Spálenec and Dolni Sněžná in the west and Svatá Magdalena and Zbytiny in the northwest. To the south are on the training area, the ruins of the area Vlčí Jámy ( Wolfsgrub ).

History

Since the year 1265 was at the creek Luční the settlement Polučí. Until the 14th century originated with Vyšný, Markov and Chlumské domky other villages. Later, the area was deserted by the plague. 1602 took in Vyšný a glassworks to operate on, it produced until 1793. More glassworks Schober sites and Hüttstatt were operated. The area was depopulated by the Thirty Years' War.

1694 founded the owner of the domain Krumlov, Johann Christian von Eggenberg the village Christian Berg. It consisted of 42 houses and its inhabitants were settlers from Styria, Tyrol and Bavaria. As 1717 Eggenberger became extinct in the male line, Christian Berg fell to the Schwarzenberg. In the 18th century in the area caused the loggers settlements Wolfsgrub, beetle homes, Hüttstatt and New Christian Berg.

1807 was built at the mouth of the creek in the Pucheřský Blanice a glassworks. The voltage applied to the hut glass workers' settlement was named after the manager of the Schwarzenberg estates in Cesky Krumlov, Serious Meuer, Serious Brunn. In 1919, in the Valley of Blanice a narrow-gauge forest railway operation, which was used to transport the Kalamitätsholzes from the forests of the Bohemian Forest and resulted in Burns Mountain as a connecting railway to haul Prachatitz - Wallern. In 1932 Christian Berg 1464 inhabitants. The glassworks was founded in 1945 in Arnoštov decommissioned. After the expulsion of the German population in 1946 extinguished most of the settlements to Křišťanov.
